Biography I was born in California in the late 1970's. I grew up in Colorado and received a B.A. from Colorado State University. I studied and worked abroad in both Europe and Asia, contributing to my development as an artist.
I started my career in art by selling small drawings and postcards in Japan. Since returning to the U.S., my paintings and line drawings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in museum’s, galleries and art spaces in California, Colorado, New York and Oregon, most notably in an emerging artist exhibit at the Fort Collins Museum of Contemporary Art in Colorado. My art has been published in several magazines, newspapers and used by organizations such as the United Way of Larimer County, Colorado. Reviews of my art have appeared in publications such as the New Times of San Luis Obispo, California.
I am the recipient of several artistic awards and honors, including honors in high school graduation and a merit award for my painting, "bubble blossom," from the City of Westminster, Colorado.
After a short return to California in which I pursued both artistic and nonprofit endeavors, I moved to New York and received a M.P.A. from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy to focus on nonprofit leadership. I have worked in the human services field for over a decade and my experience includes facilitating strategic planning sessions for nonprofit board of directors, program development, community advocacy, serving as CEO of a youth services organization, and serving on several boards and advisory committees.
My husband and I currently reside in Upstate New York with our daughter and two cats. We enjoy eating, gardening, nature, our friendships, and harassing each other.
